Harlow has many exciting and engaging places to investigate, but by far the most captivating of all is the Town Park, spanning across one hundred and sixty acres of urban area packed full of family-friendly activities, many natural trails to explore, and leisure for kids, teenagers, and adults alike. As well as being a refreshing breath of fresh air and a provider of hours of amusement, the park is home to countless different species of wildlife, including a vast and vibrant array of flowers, and a large variety of animals and insects.

In Pets’ Corner, dozens of animals are kept in safe, considerate environments that allows maximum entertainment for both the inhabitants and their visitors. Children are thrilled to get to see their favourite farm animals, birds, and fish right in front of their eyes, whilst simultaneously learning fun facts about them.

Another feature of the park is the bandstand area, where multiple activities are held throughout the year, encouraging Harlow residents to get out of the house and come to see live music and a host of events. One of these events held at the park is the annual firework display on Bonfire Night, which always sees enthralled children and impressed adults. Nearby the bandstand is the Spurriers House Café, a family favourite and highly recommended when taking a stroll around the park.

The park also holds a number of play-centred areas, such as the Adventure Playground, a fenced-in zone with child-friendly apparatus. During the day, this part of the park is never empty, as it is one of the most popular spots for families with young children, and it is even favoured by some older children, as it always has a very happy and laughter-filled atmosphere. As well as the playgrounds, there are two separate sets of exercise equipment that are free to use and available to anyone at any time, for regular workouts or just the occasional use.

The duck pond is also a highly loved part of the park, as who doesn’t want to see an adorable flock of ducks floating or waddling around? There are safety measures in place to protect the ducks from being given any food that could potentially cause harm to them, which is extremely helpful as not all dangers are widely known.

In conclusion, the Harlow Town Park is a beautiful and beloved asset that adds bursts of colour and life to an otherwise somewhat dull area, and has won the Green Flag Award, which recognises the country’s highest-quality green spaces, for the past seven consecutive years. It is a strongly-recommended spot to visit, whether you are a local looking for a relaxing walk or a tourist wanting to discover gorgeous new areas.
