AN esteemed UK jazz vocalist is set to perform in Colchester Arts Centre

Beverley Beirne will grace the stage of the Church Street venue on Sunday, April 28 at 7.30pm.

Having played in leading clubs across the UK and Europe, including Ronnie Scott’s Bar, Pizza Express Jazz Club, and Gregory’s in Rome, Beirne’s career also encompasses headlining spots at Marsden Jazz Festival 2019 and Limerick Jazz Festival 2023.

Beirne’s recent album, Dream Dancer, produced with Grammy-winning New Yorker Jason Miles, captured the attention of critics, earning multiple positive reviews.

Beirne said: "Working with Jason was wonderful, not least because Jason has so many fantastic stories of all the incredible people he’s worked with from Miles Davis, Luther Vandross (and) Sting."

Proving her adaptability and creativity, Beirne spins fresh interpretations on jazz standards, featuring on albums alongside esteemed UK musicians.

She said: "I have some fantastic songs planned, from both Dream Dancer and some of my favourites from Jazz Just Wants To Have Fun, as well as some new takes on some familiar tunes and I’m bringing...pianist John Crawford and one of the UK’s finest bass players Andy Hamill.

"We’ll be performing in one of the U.K.’s premier music venues, Colchester Arts Centre - what more can you ask?"
