A SCHOOL in Colchester has announced an emergency closure due to site issues.

The Stanway School will be partially closed today, with students in years seven to ten being asked to stay at home.

The school remains open to year 11 students, LAC and EHCP students, with remote learning in place for those affected by the closure.

The closure is required after “technical issues” at the school.

A spokesman for Stanway School said: “Due to technical issues, The Stanway School will only be open on Tuesday, February 27 to Year 11 students only.

“Students in Years 7 to 10 must remain at home and work will be set on Google Classroom according to the lessons on their timetable.

“Year 11 students will go to their mock exams as planned, and their other lessons will be re-roomed. The school buses will be running as normal for the Year 11 students.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause.”
