THE Wivenhoe Musical Theatre Group is set to stage a production dating back to the 1950s.
The talented team of actors will perform Calamity Jane from March 12 until March 16, 2024 at a soon-to-be-decided venue.
Based on the historical frontierswoman of the same name, the musical was first a 1953 film starring Doris Day.
It was first produced as a stage musical in 1961.
Casting is underway for the role of Lt Danny Gilmartin, who was portrayed by Philip Carey in the original film, to play opposite Katie Brown.
Rehearsals start on Monday, November 13.
